Ahead of the 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting which will be held in Apia, Ambassador Luamanuvae and Ambassador Dame Caroline of the UK Embassy in Beijing co-hosted an event on Thursday, 10th October 2024 at the UK Embassy to celebrate the Commonwealth.
The event was joined by Ambassadors, officials and students from the Commonwealth countries in Beijing and it included a roundtable session in the afternoon and a reception in the evening.
The roundtable discussion in the afternoon focused on three CHOGM themes: Climate Resilience, Resilience Economy and Youth Resilience.
Ambassador Luamanuvae’s remarks at the evening reception highlighted the Commonwealth’s strength and uniqueness which relies on common language and common law, diversity, constant pursuit of development, the protection of democratic values and process which are underpinned by dialogue and diplomacy.
