A privilege and honor to present my Letter of Credence from Samoa’s Head of State, Afioga Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aleto’a Sualauvi II, to the President of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Yoon Seok-Youl. The ceremony was followed by a meeting with His Excellency the President, and his Foreign Minister, Cho Tae-yul. Ambassador Mariner highlighted the importance and strength of the bilateral relationship between the two countries since diplomatic relations were established in September 1972. The Ambassador impressed on the importance of partnership and collaboration between the two countries to address the global challenges facing the international community and the need to strengthen the multilateral system.
